School History

SGIS is located in Maadi area, an affluent, leafy suburban district south of Cairo, Egypt.

  • It has been approved and recognized by the Egyptian Ministry of Education and the civil authorities within its jurisdiction under LawNo.306 since2014.
  • The school was accredited by American International Accreditation Association of schools and colleges in 2014 and the expiration date is June 30, 2021and advancEd in 2019 and the expiration date is June, 30, 2021

    The School was first established in 2014 by Mr.Tayseer Matter as owner and Chairman.

    SGIS started with a population of 125 students starting pre k to grade 10: one class per grade level.

    Since its establishment, there has been a great influx of students due to the strong reputation SGIS has earned. The School population exceeded 500 students: two classes per grade level.All grade levels have been operative since 2016.

Faculty and Staff

Our l hire staff are rigorously screened and interviewed to ensure we find professionals who have the right mindset and values to work at SGIS and the passion to empower our students to become critical, independent thinkers with the skills to be dynamic participants in an ever-changing global society.

The School Academic Year

  • The average school year is180 school days, divided into four quarters, which allows a minimum of 130 credit hours for every main subject.
  • School starts in the first week of September and ends in June. Islamic and Christian vacations are set by the Ministry of Education.

School Hours

  • SGIS operates on a5-day week schedule (from 8a.m.till2.50p.m.) All students, faculty, and staff receive a copy of the official School Calendar and class schedule at the beginning of every academic year.

Curriculum

is based on American Common Core State Standards for English Language Arts, Math, Aero in  History/Geography, and Next Generation Science Standards for Science. … Students are supported by a huge range of co-curricular activities that ensure they have the opportunity to develop fully as individuals.
